Farhan Devji is a rare talent. He has an exceptional diverse skillset ranging from content planning/strategy, writing/storytelling and producing award winning video features. Not only that, he has a deep understanding of best practices in social media that continually evolves in line with the ever changing pop culture/tech landscape. Most of all though, he's just a great person and teammate.

I had the pleasure of working with Farhan Devji during the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. He immediately impressed me with his knowledge coming into the tournament and his professional approach. The Journal and Herald had eight staff sports writers assigned to provide coverage so finding an uncovered story was a challenge. Farhan accepted each assignment with enthusiasm while pursuing his own ideas. I was very impressed with the way he kept his eye on Prime Minister Stephen Harper – and not the puck – during a surprise visit to Edmonton and he nailed a story on Team Canada’s psychological player preparation. Farhan brought tremendous energy to our coverage, dealt effectively with the inevitable organizational hassles and displayed great talent as a writer and reporter.

It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Farhan Devji. Farhan was a key member of our team over the busiest part of our season, and he was a fantastic contributor. His versatile skill set - combined with a calm, can do attitude - was a great asset to us. From writing news releases and articles, to working with players and the media, Farhan worked really well under pressure and wrote as though he's worked in sports for decades.
